2026 is only a few short weeks away. Have you finished optimizing your Payroll processes for the year ahead?

If not, we have you covered.

In today’s article, we’re outlining the transformative power of electronic W-2s, enhanced PTO tracking, and web- and GPS-powered Time & Attendance. Plus, don’t miss our fraud alert! Scammers are requesting changes to direct deposit information to steal from your employees.

Payroll Services For 2026

Don’t step into the new year with unnecessary Payroll issues. Here are three solutions many of our customers are exploring right now:

1. Electronic W-2s to Simplify Year-End

Remove a major source of administrative stress at year-end with electronic W-2s. Significant benefits include:

  • Electronic distribution of W-2s, eliminating paper waste and physically mailing tax information.
  • Quick and easy employee access to the online tax portal.
  • Minimal administrative tasks and responsibilities regarding W-2s and distribution.

2. Paid Time Off Tracking

Simplify PTO tracking with your partners at The Payroll Shoppe. Our advanced software and specialists give you the ability to:

  • Immediately access up-to-date PTO reports for each individual employee
  • PTO reporting on pay stubs
  • Erase PTO-related recordkeeping from your personal responsibilities

3. Web- and GPS-Enabled Time & Attendance

Virtually eliminate time and attendance headaches with our streamlined time tracking options. Our benefits:

  • Web-based time tracking so employees can clock in and out from their phone instead of a time clock.
  • GPS-based time tracking that automatically clocks employees in and out based on their location.
  • Simplified recordkeeping and increased accuracy.

Fraud Alert: Beware Direct Deposit Change Requests

Be wary of emailed requests from your employees asking to update their direct deposit bank account. It could be scammers!

What Happened: We’re recently heard from multiple employers who received fraudulent emails that appeared to be from their employees—and asking to change their direct deposit bank account to the scammer’s bank account.

Unfortunately, the employers made the switch, and the employee didn’t notice until after the next payroll run (when their paycheck failed to come through).

Take Action: If an employee emails you about updating their direct deposit bank information, call them on a known phone number to verify they entered the request.
